About Fellowship:
The Young India Fellowship is a year-long residential postgraduate diploma in Liberal Studies. It brings together 100 individuals who are both curious and driven, providing them with a multidisciplinary and multidimensional education. During the fellowship, participants engage in diverse areas of study, research, and practice, guided by leading thinkers and scholars. The fellowship aims to shape well-rounded individuals with varied aspirations and career trajectories.

Financing Your YIF Education
Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship for Young India Fellows: We are delighted to introduce the Chancellor’s Merit Scholarships for exceptional candidates joining the YIF Class of 2025. Ten scholarships, covering both tuition and residence fees, will be awarded based on academic, non-academic, and/or professional excellence, along with demonstrated leadership. Invitations for the Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship interview will be extended to a select few admitted candidates in each round. There is no separate application process for this scholarship.
Need-based Financial Aid for Young India Fellows: Ashoka University’s need-based Financial Aid program aims to bridge the gap between the program cost and your ability to pay. This aid is made possible by various benefactors, including YIF alumni. To complement the need-based aid, education loans are also available to cover any remaining gap in financing.
Financial Aid:
Application Process: Step 1: Familiarize yourself with the Financial Aid Application page for documentation and information.
Step 2: Apply for need-based Financial Aid once shortlisted. The form will be enabled in early/mid-December 2023 (Round 1) and mid/end April 2024
Step 3: Financial Aid Office verifies and assesses each application, may contact parents/guardians/candidates, and makes a final decision. Candidates must provide detailed comments and supporting documents.
Step 4: Candidates selected for admission and financial aid will receive an Offer of Admission and Financial Aid. If granted aid, it will reflect in the fee structure. Accepted candidates must follow instructions on the Admitted Candidate Portal to confirm acceptance and pay the acceptance fee by the deadline.

- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
- Demonstrated curiosity and passion for learning.
- Diverse academic, professional, socio-economic, and geographical backgrounds welcome.

- Submit required documents, including academic transcripts and letters of recommendation.
